Joyia and Jon met each other while completing their production coursework at New School University in New York City. Already producing their own projects, they decided to come together and collaborate on a feature film. Meeting at one of the many cafes around the University over a cup of coffee that turned into lunch and then dinner, they put down every subject they would like to tackle before settling upon an idea that was revolutionary at the time: a fast-moving thriller with an eco-friendly, David vs. Goliath theme. They added a third writer to the project, Jon’s wife Georgina, a novelist in her own right, and a proud SAG member.

Igniting Water was born out of our love of the planet, and real frustration at the high cost of gas both environmentally, as well as at the pump

The script was written in 2007. Our intention was to film in 2008. Coincidently, the stock market dropped like a rock and right along with it, so did all prospects of acquiring and keeping investors aligned with the project.

Fast forward to this current time and, with only a few updates, the script is more relevant than ever. The team is now on their way to making this film a reality, with the participation of great talent and an amazing crew.
